That will never change. IKEA is always a zoo to various degrees. Factors that make it more crowded:
- Weekends
- Rainy days
- Number of colleges within 60 miles
- Proximity to college move-in season (August/September)
- Proximity to apartment-swap season for people under age 30 (when everyone’s leases expire in June)
The first time I went to an IKEA was a rainy Saturday in Pittsburgh at the end of August.
Don’t do that.
The best time to go is on a weeknight.
